Jesus saw them where they were — at work, ordinary and unremarkable — and called them to a life that would change the world. In Matthew 4:18–22, Jesus invites Simon Peter and Andrew, James and John to "follow me," and they immediately leave their nets. This passage reminds us that discipleship begins with a personal encounter and leads to a decisive response: noticing Jesus, listening to his call, and trusting him enough to step away from comfort and routine.

Join us this Sunday as we explore what it means to be summoned into Jesus’ mission today. We’ll consider three encouraging truths from the text:

• Jesus meets people in everyday places; no life is too ordinary for his purpose.

• Following Jesus often requires leaving behind familiar securities, but it brings a new identity and purpose.

• Discipleship is immediate and communal — we are called together to become fishers of people.
