Title: Living in Christ — Words, Work, and Witness (Colossians 3:17–4:1)

Paul’s charge in Colossians 3:17–4:1 ties private devotion to public life: everything we do — word, deed, prayer, and work — belongs to Jesus. When “in the name of the Lord Jesus” becomes the lens for our speech, our thanksgiving, and the use of every gift, daily life turns into worship. Paul warns against hollow rituals or empty talk and points us back to gratitude and service rooted in Christ. That reshapes how we relate at home, at work, and in ministry: masters and employers are reminded to act justly and in the fear of the Lord; believers are called to be wise, gracious witnesses in a world that needs the hope Christ brings.

This sermon will explore three practical applications:

• Speech and thanksgiving: How to let our words honor Christ and reflect a heart continually grateful.

• Work and witness: How ordinary jobs become kingdom service when done “as serving the Lord,” and how employers and leaders are called to show justice and compassion.

• Evangelism and wisdom: How prayer, wise conversation, and dependence on the Spirit equip us to open doors for the gospel.
