Eternal Peace through the Death and Resurrection of Jesus

  • Jesus’ death satisfies God’s justice. His resurrection breathes peace. Is it sometimes difficult to remember that Jesus has already accomplished peace through His death on the cross?

  • Consider: The disciples and the religious teachers mistakenly believed that the priority of Jesus’ ministry was earthly teaching and discipleship. Yet, Jesus continually refers to His ministry as the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven. The Messiah is pointing His followers to an eternal peace, not simply a temporary relief from suffering. Many times in our life, we find ourselves simply talking to God about temporary issues instead of recognizing the eternal promise of God’s Kingdom. It’s time for us to live as Kingdom people in a temporary place.
