The Work of the Messiah: Salvation and Reconciliation

  • How does salvation by grace deepen your appreciation for Jesus’ sacrifice?

  • What does it mean to be reconciled to God and others through Christ?

  • How does your life look different if you embrace salvation by grace through faith instead of believing in works-based righteousness?

  • Consider: One of the most difficult theological principles to remember as a Christian is the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith. As disciples of Jesus, we trust his sacrifice and atonement for our sins. We are justified through his righteousness, not our own. Yet, time and again, we deceive ourselves into believing we’re more righteous when we do things “right” than when we sin. While God hates sin, He does not love us less when we sin. He loves us completely and fully regardless of our right or wrong actions. Our best actions are “filthy rags” without the sacrifice of Jesus. Every day you should be encouraged to rest and rejoice in your salvation because you cannot earn it when you’re holy, and you cannot lose it when you sin. It was offered to you by grace through faith by Jesus.
