Dr. Jerry W. Mixon
Interim Senior Pastor

Dr. Jerry W. Mixon is a graduate of William Carey College where he received his B.A. degree and his Doctor of Divinity, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he obtained a Master of Theology degree.

Dr. Mixon was ordained and entered the ministry in 1960. He has served as a pastor for 32 years. He has served two terms as president of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board and vice president of the Mississippi Baptist Convention. He has held interim pastorates at seven churches in Mississippi prior to coming to Brandon Baptist as our Interim Senior Pastor. Since 2000 he has served as Stewardship Director of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board.

He is the author of three books, “Off the Main Road”, “Along the Way Home” (both from Broadman Press), and “Ten Steps to Developing a Christian Business in Your Home.”

He and his wife, Victoria, have two children, Jeffrey Daniel Mixon and Lanay Lambert.
